Burberry offers a teasing for February 2017 collection
The second Burberry collection, straight-to-consumer, was presented on February 20th in a unique show at Makers House, London, where there were exposed more than 40 works of artist Henry Moore.
The famous house Burberry has taken the public by surprise with a special theme sculpture. And even if some may look eccentric, do not forget that were created just for the podium. “Street” versions can be worn by anyone.
“I was always fascinated by the great British sculptor Henry Moore and his work has always had a strong influence on me. Watching them, his works have triggered a series of discussions when we started working on the new collection. The result is a fruitful collaboration with the Henry Moore Foundation which was not only a fashion show, but was materialized in an exhibition at Makers House.
Works on display will show the creativity and the enormous contribution he has brought to the development of modern art in Britain and elsewhere, and I’m excited to present the new collection alongside the works of outstanding artist who was our inspiration” says Christopher Bailey, Chief Creative Officer & Chief Executive Burberry.
The origins of the new collection are in the works and the creation of British sculptor Henry Moore. His own way in addressing proportions, shapes and textures collection translates into sculptural shapes and asymmetry.
The brand is a pioneer of the movement see-now / buy now, joined by increasingly more labels.
All the outfits presented in the show can be purchased. The new format and calendar of the show, without seasonal immediate and personal, was created with an eye to the global audience of the brand, reducing the distance that existed between traditional calendar of fashion presentation of the collection and its availability in the shop.
„The Portrait Studio” offered visitors a unique experience by capturing images during the visit, that I spoiled myself with aswell.
